We spent the morning at the Burren with a local guide who walked us throughout the area.  We ended up hiking for a few hours learning about the geology and fauna of the area.

With its diverse ecosystem, the Burren is home to plants that are found from all around Europe. A plant that can only be found in the Alps can be seen right next to a plant found only by the coast of the Mediterranean.  From a distance though it appears that this area is lacking of life and looks somewhat like a quarry.
The Burren is home to over 20 varieties of Orchids.
The best part of the hike was that fact that it didn't rain.
